What is Plum Flower - Quiet Cough Teapills (Ning Sou Wan):

Plum Flower - Quiet Cough Teapills (Ning Sou Wan) is a Chinese Medicine formula that clears Lung heat, moistens the Lung when it is dry, and relieves cough. It is indicated for dry, rattling cough (acute or chronic) with sticky bits of yellow phlegm that are difficult to expectorate or alternately dry cough with small pieces of phlegm expectorated upon waking. This formula may be appropriate for addressing such conditions as: acute or chronic bronchitis, asthma, pertussis (whooping cough), and emphysema (with the appropriate presentation as discussed above). Ning Sou Wan is not appropriate for use with coughs due to Wind-Cold invasion (e.g. relieving a cough that comes from catching a cold where there are also headaches, bodyaches, and chills) or coughs due to phlegm heat (i.e. those with copious yellow expectorant).
