Plum Flower - Rhubarb Teapills (Da Huang Jiang Zhi Wan) is a Chinese Medicine formula designed to purge the intestines in cases where there is hard, dry stools with fecal impactions. It is also useful as an adjunct to formulas that clear heat-toxins from the lower jiao for its action to  help "flush out" the detritus from bacterial infections in the intestines, uterus, and ovaries (to include appendicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and ulcerative colitis). The chief herb in this formula is rhubarb root (Da Huang). It is a strong purgative and its use is PROHIBITED DURING PREGNANCY. Furthermore, this formula is meant to be used short term to achieve the desired results-- that is, from a few days to a week. It also easily damages Spleen and Stomach qi-- so one should monitor for abdominal bloating, pain and distension and poor digestion when using this formula.

• Da Huang – Rhubarb Root – Radix et Rhizoma Rhei
• Jiao Shan Zha – Hawthorn Berry (prepared) – Fructus Crataegi
• Mai Ya – Sprouted Barley – Fructus Hordei Germinatus (stir-fried)

Other Ingredients: Maltose, Hydrated magnesium silicate, Activated carbon, China wax Allergen Information: The ingredient Mai Ya (Hordeum vulgare) is sprouted barley and may contain gluten proteins.

Dosage Instructions for Plum Flower - Rhubarb Teapills (Da Huang Jiang Zhi Wan)

Take 8 pills, 3x/day (or as directed by your healthcare practitioner). Amount: 200 Teapills per bottle. Short-term use formula (from a few days up to two weeks tops). Contraindicated during pregnancy. Use caution while nursing (as Da Huang can enter the breast milk and cause colic and diarrhea in infants).
