What is it?

Xiao Yao Tang or Free and Easy Wanderer is one of the most famous Chinese Herbal Medicine formulas. It is most often used for the following:

Herbal Ingredients

Filtered water, ethyl alcohol (20%) and a blend of the following dry herbs decocted at a 1:1 ratio (gm herb to ml menstruum):

• Chai Hu – Bupleurum – Radix Bupleuri (15%)
• Dang Gui – Angelica Root – Radicis Angelicae Sinensis (15%)
• Bai Shao – White Peony Root – Radix Paeoniae Alba (15%)
• Bai Zhu – White Atractylodes – Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (15%)
• Fu Ling – Poria Mushroom – Poria (15%)
• Zhi Gan Cao – Honey-fried Licorice Root – Radix Glycyrrhizae (10%)
• Sheng Jiang – Fresh Ginger – Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (10%)
• Bo He – Mint – Herba Menthae (5%)

* Percent proportion of starting herb. ** Each ml contains extractives from 1000 mg of raw herb. (1 tsp = 5 ml)

Dosage Instructions

• Shake Well before each use.
• Maintenance Serving: Dissolve 1-2 droppers (1/2 tsp.) in warm water or juice 2-3 times daily.
• Augmented Serving: Take 1 full tsp. 2 to 3 times daily in warm water or juice or as directed by a qualified herbalist familiar with the use of Chinese herbs and formulas.
• To evaporate alcohol place in hot water.
